Default scanner connection location

So I am the new guy here, owner of a 2002 Mustang GT convert. Nice car, my favorite driver. Had to replace the engine last year, burned valve with only 70,000 miles. Things happen, nice to have a new motor.
Ran great until a few days ago, service engine soon light, erratic idle with a strong odor of fuel.
Pulled the MAF sensor and cleaned it. Took it for a ride and it felt much better, still didn't want to idle down right. Got back home and found that I had failed to hook the electrical on the sensor back up. Color me embarrassed. Hooked it back up and back to square one, still crappy idle.

So I have a code scanner picked out at Sears, the problem is I do not know where to plug it in. Can someone direct me to that connector and maybe a photo? Thanks in advance

I kinda doubt it's the same as the 10's but who knows, worth a shot... Mine is right on the underside/edge of the drivers side dash, right above where the clutch would be (auto :P )

That's the pretty universal location. Under the dash of the driver's side of the car, usually left of the steering column. There will be a comm port that may or may not have a cover/cap/plug over it.

Now on to find out wht the heck is wrong with my car..
