Default New Hood Advice

I find myself in need of a new hood. Although my current one is serviceable, I would like a new one sometime in the near future. My question is, Would I be saving money by buying a Carbon Fiber hood, or should I buy a standard or fiberglass hood and have it painted? And what manufacturers of Carbon Fiber hoods should I be looking at if those indeed are cheaper?

Actual legit carbon fiber hoods are expensive. But so is buying a new hood and getting it painted. I just bought a 4 Inch Cowl Induction hood from Cervinis and it was $495, plus $110 shipping and paid $360 to get it painted both sides and mounted. So that was $965.

Can you find them cheaper? Yes, prob around $300. But just bear in mind, even if the hood is cheaper to buy, if it's not MADE as well, it's going to take the body shop longer to prep and paint. ect ect

Really boils down to what do you like / want?
