I bought my car in February and have yet to go through a winter with it. But, keep a car cover with you at all times (during all seasons of the year) and you will be fine, that is the key to keeping a good top looking nice is to protect it as well as you can from the elements. Also, make sure all of your weather stripping is good and you should be just fine during the winter .

How much weight can it hold before collapsing?

I think it would be able to hold quite a bit of weight considering the structure beams under the fabric..

I agree, the tops are pretty durable. Frankly, mine needed replacing because of heavy sun pounding from my 5.0's roots in FL and GA. Don't expect it to be too warm in there though or your defroster to be the greatest.

The sun will do more damage to your convertible top than snow and ice. Just keep it treated with a good protectant. I use 303 Products.

I just bought my vert this spring. And when winter gets closer I have to decide if to either get good snow tires for it, OR buy a winter beater & store the Stang..

Winter beaters are a good way of preserving the car, but the beater always seems to wind up becoming a money pit. I'm talking about a beater in the $1-2000 range. What sorts of beaters do you guys recommend? I'm actually thinking of getting a little pickup with a 4banger.. something like an old Ford Ranger or Dodge Dakota.

Convertible tops don't lose any heat in the winter.
