Exclamation 2002 mass airflow sensor

My 2002 gt developed a lousy idle. I put my obd 2 checker on and got a code for the mass airflow sensor and iat sensor. I'm having difficulty finding an online source that I trust. I don't want to deal with a reman sensor. I would like to buy a new one. The folks at ecology auto recyclers gave me a list of vehicles that interchange, 98-02 continental and 98-02 mustang. I found a sensor, new, manufactured by cardone, when I checked the fit details, it shows a lot of Fords, no continental. that's part of my dilemma. any input on that would be very helpful.

also, I cannot find the inlet air temperature sensor. It shows on the parts list at motorcraft.com as being in the inlet duct, there is no sensor of any type in that flexible duct, and nothing is unplugged. help!

the 96-98 and i believe up to 01.5 GT's actually had a separate air temp sensor that is plugged into the air tube. in either 99 or 01.5 they integrated it into the MAF, thats why you can't find it on your diagram since you have an 02.

here is a picture of a 1998 mustang GT engine. see right behind the maf that plug? that is the IAT sensor for that car. thats why you can't find it. and yeah i just checked a picture of a 1999, it has the temp sensor separate from the maf as well, so 2001.5 is when they changed it.
