Lightbulb Fuses vs Breakers vs Links

Why are fuseable links and circuit breakers used in some places as opposed to inline glass fuses?

Breakers are preferred in some cases because they can be manually reset, they don't burn out. Some breakers are automatically resetting, they get hot and trip, and after 30 seconds, or once they cool down, automatically close back up and restore the circuit. No need to replace a blown fuse. Fusible links work like glass fuses in a way, under heat they fail open. Some of it is preference of the electrical designer, some of it is engineering considerations, some is space requirements(ie breakers are larger than fuses, may not be room to use one).

Spade fuses are common in automotive circuits now because you can cram a larger number of them into small spaces, and in modern cars, space is at a premium.

Plus they come in all those pretty colors to make it easier to tell them apart. :-)
