Default transmission selection...

hi,
i am starting to look for a manual transmission for my 67' mustang with 351w. the motor has around 375 hp, with cam, intake, carb and some other stuff. this is probably too much power for a stock t-5, right? would i be safer to go with a tremec tko600, and not have to worry about the transmission failing due to too much power? would a toploader 4 speed be ok to use? this car is a continuing project and will most likely see a stroker kit and better internal parts within a couple years.
thanks for the help,
carl

I also have a 351w and my transmission is the TKO500. How big are you going to stroke it? Maybe you should go with the 600 just to be safe.

hi,
not sure about the stroker plans as of now. ill be out of school by that time though, so money should be easier to come by for just about anything. im thinking to go with the 600 just to be safe, and at my local shop its only about 100$ difference.
thanks for the insight,
carl
