Default Quick torque wrench question....PLEASE HELP!

I'm staring at this thing about ready to cry, I have fought with these damned things for years and I still don't understand them at all.

The one I have is the twist type, with the numbers in inch-pounds and the dial with 0-8 around the handle.

How in the hell do I set it to 18 ft-lbs??

I mean I gather that 240 inch-lbs is 20 ft-lbs, but then what? I mean from the directions I read in the manual that came with it I should go to 120, then dial up from there. For instance put it at 0 and below 120, then dial up to 6 for 126 inch-lbs...

but that makes NO sense. at 6 on the dial it's almost up to 240 on the side of the ratchet....

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP MEE!!!!!!

Just buy a ft/lb torque wrench. I hate trying to do those computations for conversion.

12 in/pounds = 1 foot/pound right?

So 18 x 12 = 216 inch/pounds

Twist the handle so 210 is the largest visible scribe, then keep spinning to the "6" on the handle,..
