Convereted to T5, Love it!
Just finished the install of a ProMotion Performance built HD T5 and boy did it wake my 5.0 up! What a blast to drive now. The pedals are the biggest headache as many have documented here. I also have a few bugs to workout. It seems to idle lower and stall sometimes while turning if no gas or rpms from downshifting...but not all the time?
Also, I appear to have lost my Cruise control w/ my new alluminum driveshaft. Assume a sensor of some sort may be missing??
If anyone is debating the AOD to manual question (as I did), my vote is do it! It is great.

I've got my Mustang engine in a truck (see my signature) and I would LOVE to put a T5 in it. I need all the torque I can get, and being able to launch at whatever RPM I want would be great. The main problem I think I might have is the T5 shifter comes out of the tail shaft housing, which may put the shifter in my bench seat. I haven't had a chance to make any measurements yet, so I might be able to make something work. Aside from that, Ford doesn't make a high performance transmission that will work in a truck. The 1/2 ton truck 5 speeds that Ford has used since the 80's is a Mazda built trany, and it works well for daily driving, but it doesn't take much slammin and jammin.

What about a T56? Its a double overdrive tranny, w/hydrolic clutch. Its a avilable with front or rear shift. Throw a T56 and some 4.56:1 gears in, and prey for mercy!
