I'm wondering how much it would be to drop stock 6 speed into 01 gt coupe? Of course all work will be done myself, no labor money. Is it a bolt on, can stock drive shaft be reused, what about flex plate.

 

All I know for sure is you do need a shorter driveshaft. There is an ad in the Aug '05 MM&FF of some company who sells the conversion kit. Can't remember how much it is, as I am at work right now. I believe it was somewhere around 2 grand.

 

I don't know the specifics of the swap, but I can say having owned two six speed, cars that I amost never use 6th. Honestly I have used 6th gear once in the past month and that was only for about 10 minutes.

 

All 6th gear is, is a 2nd overdrive.
