Default Traction Control problem.

I'm going to to ask for possible theories as to this problem, and let me first open with a story describing the problem.

I drop my car off to get two new FRONT tires on the car, at a mass chain store. (I will keep the name of the store secret, if you like I can PM it to you.)

I get my car back, and within 2 blocks notice that sometimes my TC is randomly kicking in (even when I'm not losing traction.)

Call them and they say they don't know what I they could have done and see if it goes away.

It happens dozens of times the next 20-30 minute ride at speeds 25-35 MPH.

(1-4th gear, only happening in 3rd and 4th.)

Next morning I go to get on the highway, and I can get up to 50MPH, then traction control will kick in and not allow me to go above 45 MPH.
....
If I disable via the button on the console, the problem goes away.

I'm taking the car back in tomorrow.

Any ideas what they could have done that would cause this problem?

(If they touched the rear wheels? )

Thanks!

BTW: It is a 2004 Mustang GT Convertible.

The TC is controlled by two sensors on either side of the diff. If they knocked one of them off, loosened it, unplugged it or messed them up in any way (like improperly routing the wiring into the timing cog) it could set off your TC. Jack up the rear and look for them; you can't miss them. They are little lipstick-case looking things that point to the cogs on the axles.

Depending on how they lifted the car for the tire change, they could have messed up the system on the rear axle.
