Default what is with this idling!!! help!

omg what is going on, my car is idling like crazy up and down, it sounds like sum1 is reving it when no1 is.. what causes this crappy idling??? can sum1 seriously help me b/c this problem has happened a while ago, and i really gotta resolve it.. the idle is at like 500 rpm, then it goes up to like 1500, then back down and up and down etc... its scary.. i dont no what it is, sum1 help me!

Three things:

1) Remove idle control valve and wash it with some WD-40. Run vehicle with harness connected to the valve and with harness disconnected.

2) You might have an exhaust leak, probably one of the exhaust manifolds.

3) You might have a cracked piston.


3 is more likely if you running high compression or boost.

i think its either engine timing or valve timing... im getting a timing gun, but if its high compression, how do i fix that???
