Craftsman Tool Guarantee
I own a large Craftsman tool chest thats atleast 25 years old. It's a 3 piece chest. Half of the bottom drawers will not open, and on the top section the lock has ceased and you can't open the top lid.
I've been wanting to get a new tool chest for a while and I guess never really thought about mine being a Craftsman and their guarantee. I just wanted to see before I take it to Sears if anyone has ever had a problem returning anything that was Craftsman or if there was a limit to what was in the guarantee or if it is all tools, accessories, etc.
The middle section of the tool chest is in very good shape but idk if they will have the same size chest to fit the middle section. So I'm curious to see if this works if They'll just give me a whole new tool chest.

In 2001, my dad returned a craftsman wrench he bought in the early 1980's because it broke. They replaced it with no questions asked. Sears is very good at honoring their guarantee in my experience. Over the years they have changed what they guarantee for life and what they guarantee for some length of time. It all depends on what the guarantee was at the time of purchase. Don't know if they covered tool chests 25 years ago, but it doesn't hurt to bring it in and ask.
well I know a lot of people who have returned tools with no problem, so I was hoping the tool chest would be covered but they told me just tools. It would've been really nice if it worked but oh well.

yeah sadly the craftsman guarantee is only for "hard" tools now. wrenches, hammers etc. but if i was in the market for a tools chest id go craftsman again all the way, they have some VERY nice units right now. and the new ball bearing tech they have, while pricey, is so smooth youll never regret it.
