Roughly how many hours to swap differential gears?

I was going to say, precision installs like gears should be left to the professionals. Gear whine is the least of your worries if it is not done correctly and w/in tolerances.

There are a ton of performance shops in the DFW, TX area... Most will charge $350-400, including gears.

This is exactly why I wanted to take the car to a pro for this. I love doing my own work on my own cars/bikes but when it's something that requires specialty tools and/or skills that I just don't have and that I don't want to learn by messing up on my own vehicle, I'd rather just pay someone to do it right the first time. Thanks for all of the feedback, guys.

I just had my 95 rear fully rebuilt by a local shop. Cost me $385 for labor, $200 for FRPP posi unit, and $85 for the rebuild kit. I like doing stuff myself if I can, but I also know when im over my head. You didnt get taken by any means.
