Roughly how many hours to swap differential gears?
#11
I paid $254 for FRPP 3.73 grears and install kit. Then tried to do it myself, with the help of a friend who runs a machine shop. All the work took about 6 hours, then another week to get the car back, after I took it to a driveline specialist and paid $400 for them to correct my mistake. Lesson learned, when it comes to pinion gears, take it to someone who does them all the time, if not your going to hear a loud whining sound!!!
There are a ton of performance shops in the DFW, TX area... Most will charge $350-400, including gears.

I just had my 95 rear fully rebuilt by a local shop. Cost me $385 for labor, $200 for FRPP posi unit, and $85 for the rebuild kit. I like doing stuff myself if I can, but I also know when im over my head. You didnt get taken by any means.
