Default car problem

okay, so today when i was coming from work it was raining very hard i went through a puddle of water couple of times and car made this whining noise and when i got home which is only 10 min away i opened the hood smoke was coming out from the front where the fan is not the engine. I tried to smell i couldn't really smell anything but what you guys think may be the fan motor or something. I started the car again and temperature was normal.

thank you.

you know what i think it might be the bbk filter i have which goes into the fender cuz thats where the smoke is coming from it might've sucked some water. Anything i need to do or just let it dry off.

just drove the car have my friend look at it everything is fine we think the water might've hit the headers thats why the smoke was coming out. There is no more smoke now the bbk filter is pretty dry no water there. i have a question the fan front of the engine by front bumper when does that turn ON. Does it only turn ON when the engine gets hot right?

Our cars run at about 200 degrees so if you splashed cold rain water on any part of the engine it will almost instantly steam. If you saw steam coming from the fan it was probably actually coming from the radiator. Also as soon as you turn the car off everything get hotter cause the water is no longer flowing. If you airfilter is dry and still has enough oil on it you shoule be ok. Also yes the fan only turns on when the water/antifreeze reaches a certain temperature.
