I have noticed my car when I stop and take off, it makes a popping noise. I just got back from getting it aligned and getting a new rack and pinion. It still makes that popping noise. Does anybody know what this might be? Any help would be great!

 

is the sound coming from the front or back or middle? auto or standard . i busted a trans. mount once and she popped everytime i hit the gas little more info would help

 

It is up front. The car is an auto. It also makes that sound when I turn the wheel backing up, in either direction.
