Lost keys
Is there any one who still can make a key using the VIN. number for a 1979 Mustang? I need both ignition and door keys.
TIA!

Call a locksmith
But it would probably be cheaper to replace the lock cylinders

The Ford dealer said nothing back past 10 years old. So far all the local locksmiths can make me a duplicate but everyone who would be able to figure it out from the locks is retired. Most locksmiths do NOT want to deal with autos now.

you'll need to change the lock cylinders. its easy. but if you're lazy you might try any old ford key. old locks have worn tumblers, just about any old ford key should unlock and start your car.
