Racing stripes.

RE: Racing stripes.
My own personal opinion is to paint them on,then they will last forever. But thats another problem,if you ever get sick of them or bend your car you have to repaint. You can wax your car as you normally would but i'm sure that if you would remove the wax that's already on the car that decals would stick better. To do this you can wash the car a couple of times with dishwashing soap.

Just get the stripes that stick on, you may not want them after a while. They last pretty long, when applied correctly.
Before applying them, wash your car. Use a claybar to remove everything off the paint. then use rubbing alcohol to clean after claybar.

Painted is rare now a days. Heck, even most of my brothers pace cars from the 70's were vinyl. So they will last if its good vinyl, and its properly taken care of. His older one from the late 60's were all stencilled and then painted on.

i wouldn't paint them personally. it's really hard to get a good edge and it's expensive because of all the wet sanding to make it blend....then they have to shoot clear on the whole top of the car (complete panels where ever the stripes are).
No thanks. If you really want them to stick properly, there are lots of solvents out there that are made just for that type of thing.....removing wax and grease and grime.
