Good morning..... virgin poster here at MustangForums. Let's just say that today's ocurrence has expedited something I've been meaning to do for quite a while (join this MB).

Just fired up my 90 5.0 LX Convertible this morning to hear the oddesst noise. Started right up as usual--however, I got a beeping (think of the sound produced by a radar detector).

I tried locating the source of the sound and it appears to be originating from behind the glove compartment. It's 3-6 beeps with a short intermitent pause and it starts anew.

I've had the car since the showroom and i confess to never hearing this noise-- in fact, the beeping when key's in ignition has been absent for the past 5 years -- so you can imagine my surprise at today's rather sharp noise. It's so bad that I dare not drive it as it's a major distraction.

Any thoughts from this community would be extremely welcome.

Correction: the beeping is coming from behind the two center air vents on the dashboard.
