Weird grind after starting up
When i start up the stang all is fine till maybe half a sec after she fires up, i hear a very light grinding/ticking metal on metal. i seem to avoid it by dropping the clutch right after firing up but i need info on this. anyone have any experience or knowledge about this? tried a search but nothing too specific came up thx!

I think I may have figured it out. I was thinking about how the starter works. On the starter motor, they way our cars work is with a pin that pushes the flywheel around as you turn the key. The problem, especially when its cold, is that the pin doesnt retract like its supposed to. So the pin is left grinding on the flywheel and thats what makes the noise.Probably have to take the starter off and replace the mechanism, maybe thats what the "brushes" are. <edited><editID>95Stealth302</editID><editDate>37961.7796990741</editDate></edited>
