Default Question about Auto Lamp feature, 2011 Mustang

Hello, I just swapped out the non Auto Lamp switch that came with my car with one I got from the dealer that has the Auto Lamp position. The wiring harness and plug is the same as what is shown in the factory wiring diagram for an auto lamp setup. Even the colors match.

Is there anything else I need to do to make this work? If not then that was a pretty easy fix.

Thanks for the help!

So here is an update: it works!! I had tried earlier today to cover the light sensor with some paper and the auto lamp feature did not work. Now that it is dark enough outside it works perfectly! I cannot believe I got this feature for the cost of the switch, $30 delivered. Sweet!

Jim Vreeland Ford, Buellton California, I ordered it Online. 805-686-4603 Part number FMC9R3Z11654CA or at least that is what my receipt says. List $39.02 Sell $21.42 Shipping $9.99

you pry out the little side panel with the air duct in it then push on the top of the switch panel and it pivots out. The switch itself has three anchor points, you have to push them in and the switch pushes right out. literally a one minute process since I have just saved you all the head scratching.

Thought I should bump up this thread for those who hadn't seen it.

I just bought the autolamp switch off ebay for $23 shipped (new)

Swapped it out with the old switch (You don't even need to take the panel off, just tilt it out from the top) and the autolamp feature works perfectly.

Can't believe Ford didn't include this minor little option when the cars already had the light-sensing device on the dash anyway.

Here's a good YouTube video on doing it easily...
