Default Stock Ignition Coil/MSD coil differences

I had purchased a MSD ignition coil for my 95 gt and noticed that the MSD coil does not have a second connector i.e. the factory coil has a little round resistor/capacitor? on it with a plug while the MSD does not.

Can someone explain this to me, and if I should just use the factory coil or use the MSD coil?

Thank you,
Chris Wanner

Use the MSD coil! MSD designed the system to be used as is, don't mess with adding anything into their system.

Unless your motor is heavily mod'd, the MSD coil is overkill and won't make a noticeable difference in performance. As for the little plug, its on the motor for a reason... So it is probably needed. Contact MSD, or go back to stock.

Anyone know what the little plug is called, or why my engine would require it?

Turns out the MSD coil was a factory dud, so that explains that.
