Default Which is the power wire?

Me and my friend who used to install for bestbuy a few years ago have been trying all day to get subs/amp to work. We've got everything setup and all the wires hidden and ran through the car very nice.
However we did a quick test and the amp doesnt shut off automatically, and I'm sorry for my lack of better terms since I'm a total noob with this stuff (and my friend is gone who does know them :P ), but we need to know which wire is the one that turns the amp on/off when the radio is turned on/off? He said something about it being a "12 volt accessory wire" or something like that.
Anyways I have a Shaker500 head unit in there and I've got the proper adapter from bestbuy to hook the sub/amp up to the Shaker500.
Does anyone know which wire it is that we need and what colors it is? Also does anyone have a good diagram of this for us when we dig back into it tomorrow?

It is called a "remote" and it is usually blue, but for a stock stereo it could be different.

Couldn't you piggyback off of the remote turn-on for the stock Shaker amp and use that as the reomte turn-on for the amp you are installing??
