Default Performance chip

Also in for my Focus ST, I was looking at this chip sold I was wondering about it actually working. Once I go through all the trouble to out it in the CPU I would like it to work!

What I am wondering is, is it bad for the engine to be able to advance the timing with 87 gas in the tank?

I mean you can just the chip on and off with the flick of a switch. I dont want to advance the timing but have 87 octane in the tank if that is bad for it!

as long as your car doesnt ping you are fine and thats 4 degrees advance the stock timing is 10 degrees all cars are differnet with timing you will just have to play around with it or the best thing to do is take it to a dyno
