Bug stains / chips
When i purchased my stang, i thought i had to just wash and wax the front bumper because of bugs. After i washed the front bumper, i realized that it wasnt bugs , but like chips in the plastic bumper. There are also bug stains that dont come off. I've used several kinds of bug remover to no avail. Anybody have any idea how to get bug stains off plastic bumper? Also what can i do to kind of fix the pitted look on my bumper? Yeah i know, i got taken, but she is pretty everywhere else.
Try using an ultra fine rubbing compound.Try not to rub through the clearcoat,if you see paint color on the polishing rag then you went too far.If the chips are severe a repaint might be needed.
Claybar for sure. I used Claybar on my 95 Stang and she looked wet for weeks after that. Its alot of elbow greese and attention to detail but it will be rewarding. It wont fix the chips but it will take the stains away.
There are different types of claybar, different grit so to speak.
Mothers makes a VERY nice kit that you can buy from Kragen or Autozone that has ShowRoom Finish with it so you dont have to buy it separatly. That is kinda a whitish greyish bar.
Then there are two bars that I know of that Auto Detailers use.
One is Brown I believe and that is more for light duty stain and debris/scuff removal and then a purple that is heavy duty and can get dont to your clear coat REALLY quickly.
Showroom finish is the best product imo to use with ANY claybar.
Its cheap (Only like $20 bux after taxes) and it does about 3 cars.
For your chips I might advise going to the dealer and getting some color code matched paint in a pen so that you can just touch then up for a while. There is a proper way to cover those up too, you dont just glop it on. You have to prep the area and then mask it off, I think CarCrazy has something on their website about it.
Welp good luck.

Thanks for the help, i've heard people mentioning claybars, but didn't know what they were used for. lol. You really cant see chips on front fender, but you sure can feel the pits when u rub your hand over the bumper.
