Hey guys I have a mustang that I am currently rebuilding the exterior/interior on and it has been sitting for about a year and a half, i changed the oil about a month before i started working on it and the oil maybe has about 500 miles on it. it has full synthetic mobil 1 oil in it and I was wondering if it would be safe to run it around town today on that oil, i want to drive it one last time before the weather starts cooling down and i dont want to have to do a oil change just to drive it one day and then let it sit over winter then change it again in the spring. do you think the oil is safe or do you think water absortion, etc,,, got to it?

 

Start it up, let it warm up a little and go for a drive. You'll be fine. If there was water in it (due to condensation) it will burn off pretty quickly once the car gets up to normal operating temps.
