Default Cruise Control not working

The cruise control on my 06 Mustang V6 is not working. When I push the "on" button the dash light does not come on nor does it hold a speed. Everything else works on the car like the horn, lights, radio, etc.

Anyone have any suggestions what I can check? Thanks for the help.

Have you checked fuses? There is also a switch by the brake pedal. It may have become disconnected. If it's a manual transmission there is a switch on the clutch pedal also. Other than that it may be a control servo or some relay gone bad.

Do you have LED tail lights? If so, this may be the cause. The cruise control needs to 'see' some more resistance then the led's provide. All I did was pull one of the old bulb receptacle's that wasn't used anymore, and put a bulb back in. The bulb hung down in the trunk a bit, but you couldn't see it outside. It was enough for the cruise to work again. I should warn, that this is kind of the ghetto way of fixing the issue.

If you google the subject, there's permanent solutions like wiring a resister in.
