Hey guys I was cleaning my mustang when I noticed that the metal panel of the car was lifted off the door frame and the little plastic piece that helps guide the window up is cracked when the window is down I can move it back into place but when it's up I can't I'll put up pictures of it in an hour or so when I can. I was wondering what I can do to fix this or if I need to take it somewhere.

From the looks of it I think the piece needs to be welded back on and glued back together, I was hoping someone here might have a better idea as I've never welded anything.

Other this problem and then the bondo over the antenna hole to cover it up. (Hate the Antenna, it ruins the sleekness of the car so I deleted it) the body is in very good condition, ready to be sanded down and painted Black with Green Racing Stripes.

OMG....what in the world!!!!!!! LOL.....the retaining clip you have in your hand needs to be tacked back on, keep the leading door edge clipped into the retaining door frame edge while tacking that top clip back on. You mentioned that you were getting the car painted, etc. I would replace that door and those things are dime a dozen.

Thanks, I was considering just getting a black door, it would be one less thing to paint, but the junkyards around here want around $200 average for any car's door, if I can tack the trim that overlaps the edge of the door back down and secure the retaining clip again, then glue it back on, it would probably cost less. I just need a good metal sealant.

I hear you dude, 200.00 isnt a bad price (considering we pay more for them out here, lol), to save the money, do what you were thinking, I would do it that way too, there is also a thing called metal poxy, Im sure your local (NAPA) has it (check the body section) and ask the sales guy, its actually like a silicone, but its a 2 part epoxy and its actually just as strong as cold weld, etc. Check it out and let us know.
