What do you guys find to be the average cost for doing a custom tune? I have a 97 GT running a 318 Stroker with Vortech supercharger. I had a Dyno done and my current tune is set to a max of 6,000 rpm and the A/F ratio starts out rich (about 15) and then levels out (12) before gradually going rich (14) from about 5,000 rpm to 6,000 rpm. The person doing the Dyno was surprised that max rpm was set to 6,000rpm. They felt it should be more like 7200rpm. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

 

$300-500 depending on the shop and how long it takes. Some shops will retune after you do more for a discounted rate as well.

 

JD... what do you think about the RPM of 6000 versus 7200?

 

What is the short block like in your car? Also what valve springs and cam are running? Alot of times you need to spin a motor to make power, but that really depends on your combo.

1. longer engine life..ie valve springs etc


what ya need is a tweecer rt or something like it with a A/F kit to datalog as most dyno still can;t tune for real world condition so to speak
