Default Who would?

Would anyone with a 2009 GT500 with 2350 miles trade it in for a FULL load 2013 Mustang GT? If so why

I can see a lot of fans going for the newest body style just to say they have it.
Personally I'll never buy anything that says SHELBY... so I might be the wrong person to answer.

Are you thinking about doing it? If it were me, no way! I'd keep the GT500 and wait for the 50th Anniversary model and have both.

i have no idea what the price tags are on these cars, but perhaps the payments were too high on the 500?
just a guess

That's the only reason I could think of to do it. The GT500 was probably around $50k in '09. But a 2013 GT fully loaded is around $40k MSRP now. So depending on how far into the payments a hypothetical person is, it's probably not worth it in terms of savings to start over on payments on a new GT. And looking on Carmax I see an '09 GT500 with only 6k miles selling for $38k. So if it was purchases recently, the costs might be even closer.

So taking any potential cost savings out of it, I wouldn't do it. The body styles are similar enough, there's not enough visual difference to sway me. I'd rather have the older top performing model than a newer lesser model, even though I know the new GTs certainly aren't slouches.

Paid 49,100.00 out the door new in Jan 09 and paid it off Feb 2011. The Carmax price seems a tad high as mine has 2300 miles and I would let it go for 36k Canadian. Oh a fully loaded 13 GT will run mid to high 40k here.

put 14,000.00 down and the payments ran at 516.00/month for 6 years I think maybe 5 years not sure. We took 25 months to pay her off so no payments for the last 13+ months. Oops I lied 519.00/month tehehe

Ah well, if I had the 09 GT500 fully paid for already, I definitely wouldn't trade it in. Especially for the extremely small amount of driving it's getting, and assuming the next one would be driven similarly small amounts.

I don't know the finances involved, it was paid off quickly so maybe the difference on the GT could be paid quickly or up front as well. But even so, I don't see the point. That 09 GT500 is only 3 years old and is still a darn sweet, modern ride...
