Quarter Window Seal Question??
Hey guys, just got a 2001 Mustang GT convertible about a week ago. It's missing the little rubber strip that's supposed to be connected to the quarter window going vertically, sealing the driver and quarter window together.. can someone help me out with the term of what this piece is called? Also any easy places to find a replacement?.. There's about a quarter to half inch inch gap between the windows and it's not so good when it's raining.. which it's been doing a lot of lately. Thanks a lot for any help

The separator is not something you can buy itself. You will have to replace the entire window. I just went through this with my passenger window a month ago.
Call MPS Auto Salvage. 800-236-1156. I got a window in perfect condition from them for $90 shipped.
As far as install goes. You need to take the rear speaker panel off for sure and maybe the seat. I was lazy cause it was cold here when I wanted it fixed. Local Ford dealer charged me $100 for install.
Edit: Here is a pic of my window.. Like your issue I'm sure.

well, it's kind of like that except the rubber piece is completely missing... Are you sure I wouldn't be able to just buy a new rubber piece and stick it on there somehow?.. replacing the whole window seems a bit ridiculous just because of that piece missing..

You can fix it any way you feel is best.
If you want to do it right, you need a new quarter window.
If you believe I am mistaken, call MPS Auto and ask them.
