Shaker 1000 Aux Question
hey guys, i just bought myself a used '06 GT with 17K miles for $18,000. immaculate condition, absolutely love it, but one problem... i cannot seem to find an answer to the AUX input
My car came with the shaker 1000 radio, it has an AUX button so im assuming you can use it? has anyone set it up themselves and what do i have to buy and where, if i can? once again its a 2006.

Its not there, in fact, there's no input for it. I've checked everywhere (unless I just missed it by some unlikely chance) and it brought me to the Internet to ask around. I heard there's some interface that you can buy and plug into the back of the shaker stereo head, but then I've also heard that its not available at all for the 2006 year.
I'm totally confused lol. I would like to buy a whole new stereo head, preferably an in-dash Touchscreen with a navi and all that fancy stuff but I'd have to save up a while.

Only 2007+ models had the wiring for an aux input run to the center console.
Several solutions available should you need to have it since you have the aux button on your shaker, but they'll all run you $50-$100, best to just save the money, and get a good pioneer touchscreen unit for a few hundred bucks...

If the head unit itself came with the AUX input, there might just be a cord that runs from the back of the unit to the front for you to plug your device in. I got a nice Kenwood installed in my 71 mustang and they never pulled it out from the back.

Both of these are from the A/v section FAQ:
Older pioneer install walk-thru using a PAC C2R-FRD1 interface module to get the 5v turn ons and other CAN-BUS functions some advanced touch-screen units need. My suggestion, extra $50-$80, and wiring in a diode to make sure to negate a feed-back issue that occurs sometimes, this will save you some headache with a touch-screen that has GPS and the rest of the bells and whistles.
Older pioneer install using just the basic install harnesses and a 5v regulator to do amp turn-ons if you don't need the extra CAN-BUS functions (Vehicle Speed Sensing, etc).
