REMOVING AFTERMARKET EMBLEMS: PLEASE HELP!
Hey Everyone...
When I had my S/C installed on my '05 GT, I put "Supercharged" emblems under each of the two "GT" emblems. I think it looks pretty good, but to my dismay the chrome paint on the "Supercharged" emblems are rubbing off and they will soon look like crap. In retrospect, I wish I had not added them and would now like to remove them. Besides, if you don't know what a blower sounds like, I don't really care what you think of my car, so I prefer it looking factory on the outside . Any suggestions on how to remove the supercharged emblems from the car without damaging the paintjob? What kind of adhesive removers are safe for automotive paint? Do you prefer the look of the supercharged emblems and think I should just paint them? (I think that might be even worse :|
Thanks in advance for any advise offered and ... if you do not know what you are talking about, please do not make untested suggestions that might damage my car!

too bad. they look cool.
easy removal though. Just sit the car in the sun for awhile or heat it up with a hairdryer or something to soften the adhesive.
Either slide a piece of fishing line under the emblem to "cut" the adhesive or work at it with a flexible plastic putty knife or something like that.
Once you get the badges off, you can clean the remaining adhesive off with goo gone. Most of the adhesive will come off with your fingers though. I only use the goo gone for the sticky that can be left over.

Take some fishing line and put on some gloves and wrap it around both hands with some slack in the middle and pull it behind the emblem and it will cut the tape, then get some goof off and take off the glue residue that is left
Wow.... I guess I should read the other posts first before I post!

Thanks for the tips! I knew about goo gone, but was unsure if it was safe for the vehicle's paint and clear coat. Maybe I will be able to later find simiar emblems that are actually crome and will not wear off.
