How do these work?
Ok, Ive seen on SOHC engine like a stock stang GT and V6 where the rocker arms are on the heads and with the springs below them and the rods connected to the rocker arms...but I want to know where the other end of the rods go or connect too? And also what do they do? What are they there for? Please explain in lamens terms...lol. Thanks.

oops....Im kinda new to the quote stuff. But from what you said above about the SOHC I dont understand? How is there a cam per head when SOHC means SINGLE over head cam? If there were 1 cam per head wouldnt that be called DOHC for DOUBLE over head cam???? Please explain

People call them all kinds of things, like, push rod motors, cam in block etc. there really is not a need for a special name, single cam motors are the oldest style engine around. That does not mean however that they a obsolite technolgy, the most powerfull engines in the world are single cam engines (NHRA Top Fuel), and plenty of street cars, make alot of power with them.
