Default moisture in new headlights

i got some new clear headlights and corners from 50resto.com, and they get moisture buildup on the inside of the lenses when it rains. i tried silicone sealant on the cracks but this doesent seem to help. does anyone have a solution? i would greatly appreciate all help. thanks so much,
matt

yes i would send them back, but the company will not take them back as i have put silicone on them and they are "tampered with."

my next attempt is to remove the silicone to allow them to breathe. im hoping this will work, otherwise im stuck.

you have any suggestions?

thanks for the reply,
matt

Well...I would hav contaced the company before messing with them.
That aside...Maye wait until a really dry day to seal them up. Perhaps you sealed in a bunch of moist air that condeses on the plastic under certain conditions.

Make them take it back. If they won't, call your credit card company and stop the payment due to the fact you recieved a broken product. Then if they try to pull something, prove that you tried to send them back and they were broken to begin with. Don't play games like that.

thanks for the tip, but i already dried them out with a heat lamp, the next time it rained, moisture was there. im soooooooooooooooooooooooo frustrated right now, im hoping that removing the silicone works. ive heard that i shoud start drilling small holes, but i dont want to do this.

drilling holes will let the water out but won't stop the water from getting in....I would let them dry out and use either some plastic expoxy or super glue to seal them. also make sure your lightbulb socket seals

You said there were cracks. What kind? Like they were broken? If so, you should have contacted the seller because they should have come with some type of warranty.

On second thought, don't go to the seller because they are just the middle man. On any of the paperwork you received, is there a name, address or phone number of the manufacturer, or web address? I would go directly to them and plead your case. If they are a good company, they will back up their product by sending you another set for free or work something out with you because they cannot afford to lose customers.

no cracks, i sealed up the seams where the clear plastic meets the rest of the headlight housing. i am currently in the process of contacting the manufacturer of the lights.

also, i have removed the lights and dried them out completely. no luck.

thanks for the tips
