Default Torque Pro OBD II app?

So, any one here ever use it?

Seems like a reasonable app to me. The ability to use my smartphone to interface with my car's OBD...well, it seems like an obvious win. The app itself doesn't cost much but the necessary adapter can cost a bit.

You would think that with this being 20freakin12 and all this neat-tech and connectivity built into our cars, one wouldn't need to resort to buying a B.S. "scan" tool.

I have it and it works pretty well. It lets you monitor all sorts of parameters and you can choose which ones you want. Pretty cool tool. The only problem I have with it is that you have to keep the Bluetooth module plugged in.

Hey Beersnob, appreciate the response. If you don't mind me asking, when you say that you must leave the bluetooth module plugged in, are you saying only while monitoring your system or are you saying that you must leave it in indefinitely; i.e, 24/7?

I love hat app, been using it for a while now in different cars. I got the PLX kiwi bluetooth adapter which works great.

Only when you're monitoring your vehicle. I'm just afraid I'm going to hit it with my knee and break it or something. It's still a pretty cool app.

I have the free version & it's been helpful already. Helped pinpoint a code my uncle's Crown Vic was throwing. I have the same concern as Beersnob, but will only really tell once I get on a track.

BTW, I am using one of those $20 ELM327 adapters they warn about. It works fine for me across 3 different cars so far.

Same as what they /\ said. On my 2012 the obd port is right in the stinking way of my clutch leg. If I don't pay attention I bonk it with my knee. I don't use it very often, but when I do the general public is in peril. I'm usually fooling with the phone, playing with gauges and dials, trying not to hit the bluetooth module with my leg, and not paying attention to where I'm going!
