HAS ANYONE HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE FACTORY MUSTANG STRIPES ON THE SIDE PEELING OFF. I HAVE HAD MY 2005 MUSTANG IN THE SHOP TO HAVE THE PASSANGER SIDE DECAL REPLACED 3 TIMES IN THE LAST SIX MONTHS. THE DECAL ON THE DRIVERS ISDE HAS HAD NO PROBLEMS. ANY SUGGESTIONS

 

Leave them off next time. Leaving them on for an extended period of time might leave a discoloration in paint. If you then realize you don't want them and peel them off, you will have to repair the discoloration.

So..my money is on take them off now and preserve your paint.

 

that is strange. I had the black paint come off the driver's side GT logo on my car three times but never the passenger side. Weird because they are exactly the same badge. There is no left or right.

I would say, in your case that there is some sort of contamination on the side of the car where they are putting the decal on....oil or something. Anyway, they need to clean the area with solvent before re-applying the decals.

That step would not be necessary if it was just once or even twice, but three times. There is something going on there.

my only guess would be that the paint was never cleaned properly befor putting the decal on. and maybe the dealer just slapped a new sticker on with out cleaning it. thats the only conclusion that i could come up with.

 

Yeah I had a problem with the stripes on the side of my 04GT when I bought it....and I promptly took them off. they = ugly.
