Default Oil Pan Removal

Ok so i have a 2002 V6 Mustang, and it has a oil pan leak. I've read that you need to lift the engine to remove the oil pan but some say otherwise. Has anyone personally fixed an oil pan leak? Please post any information you have.

Thanks

i have it is normally a fault from the gasket but i learned i also had a front main seal leak as well. i ended up replacing all the lower then the valve covers i had a lot of years on my 4.6. yours is do to it giving away at the pan when you do it and fill it with oil run it with the car rased to make sure nothing else is leaking. i have noticed some times a manufacturer in assembly will get some gaskets for the oil pan as well as the valve covers would leak after a few years. it isnt there fault but the one who made the gasket. on the bright side it will be fixed and dont have to worrie to be running low or keep checking more than usual. it is just a pain in the you know to get to it, if it is left alone it could wear out the mounts as well as making every thing oily.
