Just bought used mustang, can you guys tell me what this is?!?!

So I just bought a 2006 mustang gt. It had a spectre CAI, Pypes exhaust, and is already tuned by bama performance. By question is, what the heck is this thing!?!?!?!?

Its suppose to be a 12v outlet. I have my push button ignition there, all i can see is a light, maybe its just something plugged into the outlet? I cant see the picture very well. Can you pull it out?

Looks to be a aftermarket chrome cover that is covering the power port. My wife has one that says GT on it.

I think I could get it out, but its really tight so I'm kind of nervous. Is there any chance it could have anything to do performance wise? I dont want to kill my new car

If its not a button I cant think of anything else other than a chrome cover, i say yank it out.

So i used some needle nose pliers, i got under it, but the thing will not move... it'll spin (A LOT of resistance) but it refuses to come out! I don't know what to do..
