what is the best kind. i heard that mobil i is good the full synthetic kind.i dont want a race oil because its a daily driver and i dont want it to hurt the motor, thanks.

 

synthetic is synthetic. royal purple is good, but so is mobil 1 and its cheaper</P>

Royal purple 5-20 with a K-n oilfilter. I pay 62 bucks for twelve quarts shipped to my door. Works out to like 5bucks a quart. I like it better than Mobil 1. i use to run that in all my other vechicals(sorry s.p. tired). Eleanor loves the purple!

 

I use quaker state 5/20 full synthetic. I buy the 5 quart jug at Walmart for like 17 bucks and a couple more dollars for a filter. Not bad!

 

Is it true once you use synthetic oil you have to use synthetic on that engine forever?

 

NO!Dont run 20/50 in the winter.I run 10w30 in my winter cars.And 20/50 in the summer.</P>


10w30 is a good all year round oil to use.I dont see why you would have to use synthetic for the vehicles life after using synthetic oils in it.Just dont mix the two.Same goes for different weights of oil.</P>
