Hello, I have recently purchased an '03 convertible mustang. Everything works fine aside from an odd inconvenience with the top. It goes down very quickly and with no gimicks, however when I press the button for it to come up it goes extremely slow, and requires manual assistance to come all the way up.

The dealer that I purchased the vehicle from told me that some kids were "test driving" the car were taking the top down and instead of waiting for it to retract, pushed it down.

A mechanic looked at the skeletal system and found no bends or kinks.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Would love to fix this!

the first thing I would do is insist that the dealer fix it or drop the price some because of it, then I would check the hydraulic fluid level in the pump, if it's low, it can cause issues like this.
