Default 1996 cobra

Hi,
I am new to these forums and look forward to getting great answers to my problems! So i have a 96 cobra 4.6l dual overhead cam setup and it has 60,000 original miles. Anyway the car was bought new by my grandfather, who got sick and stopped driving it. The car sat in the sun for 3 years in California, then was put into a garage for the last 4 years. 1 year ago we pulled the car out and my gpa had the idea to start it the way it was! So he turned it over and it started right up! Then sputtered out and died, did he suck up all the **** and gunk that was left over from the car sitting? Or did it just not have a good fuel quantity coming to the engine? I am just asking so i can figure what i have to do too get this beauty back on the road! Thanks!
-Justin

7 year old fuel is NEVER good for an engine, did you even check the oil to see if there was any? **** leaks after 7 years...

I would have added some fresh gas and fuel additive. Also I would have changed the oil.

Drain the gas and get some fresh fuel in the tank. Change the fuel filter under the car. Some folks recommend Seafoam, so read up on that to decide if adding it to the tank would be of any help.
