Default Changing Spark Plug wires

Alright guys I think I made the choice to spend my money and change my spark plug wires rather than opt for a cheap cai and get no noticeable gains. I'm looking at msd 8.5mm wires from AM. My question is is there any tips on install or techniques?

Y'all's expertise is much appreciated

So you opted out of spending money on something that would produce little to no noticeable gains in favor of something else that will produce little to no noticeable gains? I’m confused by your logic…

Unless your motor is heavily modified (e.g. high compression etc), you won’t notice the difference in performance between the overpriced MSD wires and a standard set from your local auto parts store. The only thing you’ll notice is a lighter wallet.

That is true. But to be fair I have noticed my engine is running rough on idle and startup. I just changed the plugs themselves and it helped some. So you would recommend just going with a motorcraft brand or something comp?

Yeah, if your wires are bad getting new ones will definitely help.

I’d recommend getting whatever is available at your local auto parts store. Just avoid the “Universal" wire sets. Direct fit style wire sets are better and less of a PITA to install. I’m running BWD wires in my wifey’s 3.8L mustang without issues.
