Default Quick Question(Not sure w

I got a 1990 Mustang. I was recently in an accident and need to get a paint job. The body is almost immaculate shape, so if someone could please help me out, and give me estimates for a paint job for the fox Body mustang it would be most appreciated. I want everything done right... the color I wantis Daytona Blue(Nissan 350Z Blue), and I want the door jams done, inside the engine compartment, everything. Please help me out

Not including the damage & repairs, a color change like such will be around $2,000+ for anything respectable.

Where in NY are you. I ouwld imagine it would cost more if you are near NY City, as oppossed to somplace in the middle of nowhere.

A good complete starts at about $2500 with no body work. Color change costs more, custom paint costs more.

I actually live on Long Island. Yea as far as I kno the only body work that might be needed is the sanding down of a fiberglass hood to make it smooth. And a minor area of rust(which i can probably do myself)... After I'm done with all I have to, I think i will have about 2500 left for my paintjob. It's not custom paint, jus a different color...

So if anyone out by ny has painted their stang let me know how much you spent...

but thank you both for answering...

Well if your changing the whole color of the car the price almost doubles. i would say around 3,000, for a show car quility paint job.

If you have any respect whatsoever for your car's finish, avoid MAACO at all costs. They are a production-oriented shop and cut corners whenever they can. They don't take allthe steps necessary to have a long-lasting, durable finish that looks good because they make money by getting them in and spitting them out as fast as they possibly can.

You can save a lot of money if you do the prep work yourself. Not real hard to do (if you don't need body work). Just wet sanding, taping... going from white to blue should be easy. My dad paints all of my vehicles for me. I help him do the prep work and he sprays them. I don't know about NY, but shops around here won't charge much labor just to spray it. (prime, base, clear)

Just my $.02
