Default winter driving tips

Hello all~
I recently got a 97 mustang GT 5 speed... my dream car. For now it will be a daily driver until I gain a better job etc to have multiple cars. I'm going to have to do some winter driving in it. I live in downers grove, IL and we have pretty mild winters here. Any tips for winter driving? Please if you are going to badmouth me driving a GT in the winter then don't bother posting. I know I'm not the first to drive a stang in the winter. Thanks all!

try starting off in 2nd instead of 1st, you wont spin the tires as easily. also try not to give it too much gas or any gas at all when taking a turn.

hope this helps and you dont wrap your GT around a tree

yup yup.... we only had 2 snows last year here.... and they weren't all that bad. Usually if it's blizzarding, i don't drive anyway because of risk of other people on the road.... thanks all

I live about an hour from Downers Grove; and although last winter was relatively mild, you know what the midwest is capable of. I personally am storing my stang only because I don't want it to depreciate from the rock salt etc. Time to bust out the oldsmobile for the winter. [:'(]

hehe. Well with my current status of income I can only own one car. either my old beater that's ready to die or the dream car..... I figure in a few months I should have a better paying job in which I can afford a decent 4X4 or something. If it's blizzarding out I usually don't drive anyway. I know I'm not the only one who drives a mustang in the winter.

The main car in our driveway that is being stored is the 69 impala.... but that's another story :-P

Yeah it is cool to hear a few other people on this forum are actually quite close by. Anyone who is from downers grove hit me up sometime

take care all

The best winter tip I can give you is 'don't crash your car'.
