Default Keyless entry issue 01 mustang

Yesterday out of the blue, my keyless entry stopped working. I bought a new battery for the FOB, and nothing. Learned how to reprogram the FOB with the ignition switch and nothing.

Then I read something via google search that the ignition switch may think that the key is in it. Ok, my switch does stick from time to time (the key sensor) I figure I will pick up some lock cylinder spray ( I only have lithium w-d40 on hand) if this doesnt work, what might be my next best step?

I do need a new key cause the teeth on this 1 key I have are nearly smooth lol and really should have a spare.

Ok.... So I have gone through the fuses. Gone through the reprogramming again. Lubed the lock cylinder, cursed at it and still nothing.

I have searched about everything I can on the subject and usually referred to the same threads over and over that essentially talk about reprogramming key fobs.

I can be the only one with this particular issue.

I have seen a machine in a auto parts store that can test the function of key fobs. Maybe try your local auto parts store to see if they can test it. If it is bad, there are a ton of them for sale on e-bay for cheap. The keys are expensive, but you might want to consider getting a spare.

I will swing over to Oreilly's today and ask them. Its a funny thing that there is no obvious way to test it out. My sct tuner shows no codes anywhere either.

Ok fob tested out, im not sure what to do next. I did have the heater core changed out a couple weeks back and they were hackers.

From day one with this car the theft like flickers before starting. Even with the key in the ignition it stilldoes it.

Im stumped how to trouble shoot it further

Time to start looking for damaged wiring and loose connections.

Just curious....do the electric locks function properly? How about the trunk lock or panic alarm....?
