Not sure if this is related but i previously had a 2000 F150 no Fob manual lock but computer key. one time I stopped at a store and when I went to restart the truck and with key in the security light was flashing and the truck would not start. after about 20 minutes hit the key cranked right over. never another problem until after I sold the truck to a co worker and he had the same problem and never did start. he took it to a shop and they said the key was bad and sold him a new key and reprogrammed it. I know with Ford you must have 2 original keys in order to get a copy to program yourself. otherwise Home Depot will make a key which I had done when I bought the truck and was $60. Good luck please update when you do figure it out.

I am having the same problem, and came here to find answer. key fob tests okay. manually hitting power lock switch on door produces no results. my entire lock system seems to have just died. anyone with suggestions ?? I have 1995 mustang.

Not sure where it is at, but the remote receiver may have died. I thought it might be under the dash......but my memory is old...lol.

Just read where it might be located under the rear shelf for 99 and older.....included in the GEM module on newer cars.....but no proof....just ideas from searching on line.

If an actuator failed, the other door and trunk would still work.

If the door switches fail, it could be the harness came unplugged from the switch.
