Check the floors from the under side for rust or crappy repairs. Look underneath at the flat bottom part of the doors for rust. Look under the dash at the cowl for rust.....if they allow you, pour a gallon of water into the cowl and look for water on the inside under the dash. Check the trunk floors for rust. Look for wavy body panels indicating poor filler work. Front frame rails are subject to being bent and trashed from jacking the car. Check the VIN on both front fenders for matching. Passenger side needs the fender loosened but not a big deal. Front lower corners of doors and lower rear of front fenders and around the rear wheel openings for rust. The vinyl roof is subject to bumps under it from rust forming.
Paint chips cost about $250 per panel to repaint and match at most shops. Complete paint job starting around $5000 and up.
Looks like a decent car but only buy once you inspect it. Price is a bit lower than I would expect....$10-12,000 is more what I would expect for a good car.
Take you time, ask questions, look close. A classic that has had a lot of sheet metal replaced can have body panel alignment issues. This is pricey to fix.
Mechanically you want an easy start, smooth running, smooth shifting, no howling no smoking, no leaking drive train. Brakes should still stop ease and straight.
