Hi all, of course, 5 days after purchase, my 2011 GT has a rattle. I think it might be the piece inside the trunk that covers the spare. It doesn't seem to fit well. Anyone else experience this? (I wont be able to check until the weather clears, as I have it under a cover waiting for our major 1/4" snowstorm. )

 

My 2005 V6 had a rattle in the trunk deck for years. It was actually more like a buzzing, the same sort of sound you hear when a fly is caught between window blinds and a glass window. I never tore her down to find it, so I gave up and just turned my volume up.

If I ran into that now with my 2014 GT, I'd tear it down, and dynamat it.

 

Thanks, I'll be tearing it down Sunday weather permitting. It seems like the piece doesn't fit flush and is hitting the back of the seats, not sure

 

I also had a rattle in my trunk liner behind the passenger taillight. It seemed during manufacturing they forgot to pin the liner to the trunk with the plastic clips Ford loves using so much. Again, for years my trunk liner flapped about on that side until I bought the part (for like $20) from Ford.

 

It appears my clips are shot, good call, I hope that solves the issue. (The two toward the bumper.) I'll put some padding between the deck and seats as well. Damn weather needs to clear soon, itching to drive
