2.3L must go
Hewwo, guys. I have a 1993 LX Notchback with the stock 2.3L 4 cylinder. I like this engine okee, but I want to pull it out and add a much more powerful (torque-wise) mill. I was thinking of adding in a 1972 351W pulled from a stout Galaxy. I have this engine and the mechanic had very recently rebiult it with new parts and blueprinted it with 1968 (or 1969 can't remember) stats. I here this mill has awesome torque numbers. Would this be an adequat mill or can I go better? Also, just to be curious and see what all I have to work with, what is the biggest (in physical dimensions) engine I can fit into my little PonyCat without doing awesomely major cutting and welding to the front end? I thank your time. =^.^=

RE: 2.3L must go
they make kits to put 460's in foxes but that 351 will do ya very nice. like Velvet Leopard said if ya want you can stroke it to a 408. the 72 block is a good block stronger than the latemodel 351's i am guessing it has 69 heads some consider them to be the best production windsor heads. i have seen some stout cars with similar set ups to what you are planning.

RE: 2.3L must go
Sweet. I found out the engine is the stock 351W from a 1971 Ford Gran Tourino. Not sure what the block number and head numbers are though. I do believe they are '69 heads though. It has a 2-barrel carb intake minus the carb.I may stroke it later, but now I just want tit to run in the car.
