Default Question on throttle bodys

I currently drive a 2002 GT and I really have been giving some thought to putting a different throttle body on it. I'm not sure what stock is, I think 65mm. I was considering a 75mm. First what are your thoughts on that. Secondly, I see all units you have a choice with or without plemium. The price more than doubles with the plenium. Can some one clue me in on how this whole thing works. With a bigger throttle body I should be able to get more air and fuel to the enjine thus more HP correct? Now what about a plenium? I am not a mechanic I admit that, but I think I am going to the right place for answers. I know that for every action there is a reaction. If I increase throttle body size is there anything else I will have to do?

thanks guys

The throttle body controls the amount of air going into your engine. There's no penalty when running a 75mm T/B over a 70mm.and at higher HP levels there would be benefits.75mm T/B's don't cost any more than the smaller T/B's.The plenum is needed to accomodate the larger T/B and contributes about half the air flow increases.Tests done by MM&FF have shown around 7HP increases with a T/B-plenum change with Accufab having a small edge.

to get the full gains, you gotta do your entire intake. otherwise, you won't get all the potential from yo parts.
